Welcome to Murray Gadd Literacy
I am an independent literacy facilitator, teacher and researcher and I work across New Zealand and around the world with school leaders, teachers and research colleagues on a wide range of literacy-related topics.
Although my particular research interest is in the teaching of writing, I hold a strong commitment to fostering all teacher actions that generate engagement, progress and achievement amongst diverse students as developing readers and writers.
I have developed this website to share my work with the wider literacy world and to promote further connections across that world. I hope you enjoy reading it.
Within the website, you will be able to read:
- About me, both as a professional and a person. Read also about the highlights of my career so far as a literacy facilitator, teacher and researcher.
- About the Services I can offer schools and other educational institutions. This section includes in-depth illustrations of some professional learning and development projects I have recently undertaken within schools, across schools and internationally.
- Some Testimonials of my school-based and/or research work, submitted principally by school and literacy leaders I have worked closely with.
- My ongoing Blog – which is primarily about literacy projects I am currently undertaking and literacy-related events that are coming up. Based on a belief that effective teachers of reading and writing should be interested in the art of reading and writing, I also include comments on books (mainly novels) that I am reading and theatre and movies I am attending.
Of further interest may be the resources developed by me that are available in my Shop. Many of these are available free-of-charge; some are for purchase. Note that this section will be continually added to.
