Ronald Bertram
Good morning Murray and thank you for the very enthusiastic sharing of this wonderful book. Modelling great write is sure way to encourage great writing. And as such that is something that I missed in the video: It would have been nice to see some modelled teaching at the close of the reading that would have linked to the next step in the students’ own writing.
Kind regards
MurrayG
Kia ora Ronald. I remember you and your family well from the Wairarapa. Thank you for your nice comments about my reading of this book. But I deliberately didn’t follow this reading with some modelled writing. If I did that, there would be no need for schools/teachers to subscribe to my online resource which is the vehicle I use for modelling writing, often from a read-to. Hence I thought that it would be unfair to people who pay subscriptions. Instead, this is a freebie that I have put out to all teachers as a bit of a motivator. And you’ll note at the end how I mention a couple of writing ideas that I’ve pursued with kids from a reading of this book. Note also that I’m planning similar read-tos out over the coming months. I hope you enjoy them as much as you have enjoyed this one. Cheers, Murray
