Could You Contribute To Murray Gadd Literacy?

Over the last five or so years, I have been busy creating an Online Resource for teachers, with over 100 videos of me launching writing lessons, undertaking shared writing and writing workshops with students, and leading professional discussions around instructional writing.

As I move around the country observing teacher practice, I see some fabulous lessons which I think need to be captured on video and shared with others.  I’ve decided I would like to invite others to put forward their material.  So here is an opportunity to capture and share your work with the wider community.

Could You Contribute To Murray Gadd Literacy?

Are you  willing to put yourself out there?  Or do you know someone who you think should?  We offer a payment for your work, full editing and writing support and more!

Just get in touch, and we’ll set up the time to discuss possible ideas.

Why Contribute?

There are several advantages for anyone who would like to contribute to the Online Resource:

  • Have fun sharing your lesson to a wide audience.
  • Support other teachers with new ideas and resources.  And we all love that.
  • Have the opportunity to be seen and promote your profile as a teacher of literacy which could be career beneficial.
  • Be supported and get paid: I offer a payment for each accepted piece of work.

What Equipment and Technical Skills Do I need?

The main thing you will bring is enthusiasm and fun, useful lesson ideas.  We will help provide you with lesson delivery guidance and Dr Gadd will provide help as you develop teachers’ notes for the work.

Our tech support guru, (Sol) will provide any technical guidance and if necessary, help with the editing and final presentation of your work.

We’re not looking for professionally made, Hollywood movies 🙂 You can use your phone so long as you have a tripod to keep it steady (if you don’t have a tripod, these are easily borrowed or purchased from .e.g kmart or PB Tech.

I’ve produced a little talk about all of this, as per the below.

Hi Murray – you are looking great! I met you a few years back at St Martins Primary in Chch. I’m still here and am now working for Andrew Mouat who is a great advocate of yours!

I have a great lesson to stir children’s imagination and get them away from clichéd ideas and thoughts. I share a book with the students but I have the cover hidden [redacted] This lesson gets their creative juices flowing and also shows them that there is a variety of ways to think about and describe nouns and scenarios. If this sounds like something you are looking for, please let me know and I’ll get a clip together for you.
Credit to my former NZ Grad School Tutor (whose name I have forgotten) for the idea.
